Tichok Munoh – Executive Director/CEO, Chairperson/President, Founder
I am Tichok Munoh, the Founder, Executive Director/CEO, and Chairperson/President of Grateful Hearts Global Foundation. This vision was born about eight years ago during a time of personal trauma. Even when I had nothing of my own, I found a way to help other women with children who were struggling to feed themselves in Greece. It was during this challenging period that God placed in my heart the idea of doing something for orphans in my home country.
The inspiration behind this initiative deepened when I lost my hero, my dad, who had a remarkable ability to make me laugh through life’s challenges. His passing made me acutely aware of the hardships my precious mom would face as a widow. However, even before these difficult times, I witnessed my parents’ generosity as they helped numerous people despite not having much themselves. My dad would bring strangers home, providing them with food and shelter for weeks.
Although our family consisted of just three siblings, our home was always open to more than 20 people, thanks to our parents’ spirit of sharing, giving, and caring for others.I grew up in an environment where sharing, giving, and caring were not just virtues but a way of life. My sister would give her last dollar to help someone, my brother was known for his generosity, and we, as a family, shared everything we had with others.

My sister would give her last dollar to help someone, my brother was known for his generosity, and we, as a family, shared everything we had with others. Personally, I was sponsored to come to Canada by strangers, demonstrating the impact of kindness from people I had never met before.
The idea behind Grateful Hearts Global Foundation is rooted in the belief that orphans, despite lacking biological parents, have many parents in the form of those willing to care for them. This concept of having one parent being more valuable than many resonates deeply, emphasizing the quality of care over quantity.
The name “Grateful Hearts Global Foundation” is my expression of gratitude to the universe and God Almighty. After enduring tragic events that are unforgettable, I chose to channel my energy and emotions into thanking God. The scripture, “Give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18), for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you,” encapsulates the essence of my journey.
In addition to being a student and a mother, humanitarian activities have been an integral part of my life. I’ve dedicated myself to helping victims of human trafficking find their voices, rebuild self-esteem, and regain confidence. Throughout these experiences, God has been kind, preparing me for a time like this. My role involves motivating others to stand firm, see the positivity in everything, and appreciate the good that surrounds them.
I am a team builder, goal-getter, reliable, and adaptable to challenging situations. Beyond my roles as a Scrum Master and a Health Care Assistant, I am in the process of becoming a Privacy Officer. Giving, to me, is not contingent on having more than one’s needs and wants. It transcends social classes, educational backgrounds, and family situations. It’s about appreciating what God has done and acknowledging the opportunities provided by the universe. Grateful Hearts Global Foundation is a testament to this spirit of gratitude, and I am honored to lead this incredible team in making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. I am based in Calgary, Canada, but have visited Europe, Africa, and Asia.
